Dr. O’Neal Mundle
Dr. O’Neal Mundle is the Director of the Caribbean Military School of Music (CMSoM), a centre of excellence under the Caribbean Military Academy, Jamaica Defense Force. In addition to providing music training for soldiers within the Force, Captain Mundle leads the CMSoM in an intervention programme which provides musical opportunities in a military environment to at-risk youth.
For over a decade, Dr. Mundle was a lecturer in Music Education in the School of Education, UWI, Mona. He holds a Doctorate in Music and Human Learning from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Mississippi. He also received undergraduate music training at the Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts and completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Mundle has taught in the public school system of Jamaica for several years and has served as a CXC Assistant Examiner in Music, and as an adjudicator in Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC’s) Music Festival. His research interests include performance evaluation in music, and assessments of the quality of music education programs in Jamaica and North American States.
