Billy Heaven, CEO of the CHASE Fund hands over a symbolic cheque for $5 million to Lyndel Wright, President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) in support of the JCA’s nutritional programme. The grant is intended to enhance the preparation programmes for the national teams which includes the national senior men and women teams, the U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams. In handing over the funds recently, Heaven noted that optimal nutrition is a critical part of the development effort and is important for peak performance. Mr. Wright said that the Association welcomed the contribution to the national programme, adding that ensuring proper nutrition for young sportsmen and women remained a major challenge for his Association. Approximately $40 million is spent on preparing the different teams annually with the nutrition element being the most important cost factor.
